Six Days, Reclaim Mind-Body Peace with a Pair of Hands | Mindfulness-Based TCM An Dao Lecture Series There is a method that requires no tools, no money, and no help from others. Use your own hands to press your own acupoints and open your own meridians. This is called “An Dao” (acupressure and guidance). What you press are meridians and acupoints, to harmonize qi and blood; what you guide are emotions and thoughts, to adjust your mindset. Three parts pressing, seven parts guiding. An Dao originates from the record of “Daoyin Anqiao” (guided exercises and massage) in the Huangdi Neijing (Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic). It is an ancient TCM wellness wisdom that has lain dormant for thousands of years. Its slogan is simple: “Take health into your own hands.” We have combined this ancient wisdom with mindfulness awareness practices to create a six-day lecture series that anyone can understand, learn, and use. Six days: eight themes. Experts will personally teach the techniques and inner principles on site and answer questions. Topics include: chest tightness and shortness of breath; insomnia and anxiety; blood pressure and blood sugar; cough, fever, and knee pain; gastrointestinal digestion; common women’s health issues. Why “Mindfulness + An Dao”? Mindfulness is consciously and nonjudgmentally aware of the present moment. An Dao uses finger pressure on meridians and acupoints to harmonize qi and blood. When the two are combined, both body and mind are cared for at the same time. Academic research has indicated that integrating mindfulness with TCM Daoyin has unique advantages in the integrated dimension of “regulating the mind—regulating the body—regulating the breath,” and can promote rebalancing of the autonomic nervous system through the coordinated input of breath, movement, and attention. Simply put: when you press, the mind also quiets down; when the mind is quiet, the pressing works even better. Who is it for? • Office workers who sit for long hours and have shoulder, neck, and back/lower back discomfort • People who want to learn a practical health-care method for their parents and family • People with poor sleep quality or who are easily tense • People interested in TCM wellness who want to start with hands-on practice • Complete beginners with no TCM background No TCM background required. No tools required. All you need is a pair of hands.
